1980s

 

Sue (Hansen) Buster '82 writes, "On May 14, 2010, Jamie Buster graduated from CUI (just a mere 28 years after her mom did!)” ** PHOTO ** (5/10)

Morgan Gainor '86 writes, "Our daughter was married Jan 3, 2010 at our church St. Pauls Lutheran here in Tracy. Her husband, Chris Wright, is an Airman in Texas. They moved there after the wedding. Chris and Melanee are headed to Colorado this summer as he is going reserves.” (8/10)

Ruth (Klima) Castillo '88 lives in Kerrville, TX. She isthe keyboardist for the praise team at church, her husband Ramirois an elder, they are actively involved in missions at the Mexican border and they both work from home. Their daughter, Taylor, is a sophomore at Texas Tech and heading for a social work, counseling career.  (4/10)

1990s

Jennifer Myers Jennings '93 and Rev. Matt Jennings '94 are proud to announce that their oldest daughter, Rebecca, will begin her college career this fall at CUI! (8/10)

Cyndi Tully '96 and Katie Bennett '03 are recruiting Alumni Handbell Ringers. The Concordia Alumni Handbell Ensemble has 2 openings for the 2010-2011 ringing season. We are comprised of intermediate and advanced ringers who are alumni or friends of Concordia. Our season runs from September to early May. Jenny (Lucas) Hughes '97 had her first book published last summer. It is a Christian juvenile fiction story. She has been promoting it through local book signings and has a fan page on Facebook for the book. The book is available from all major booksellers. The entire process has been a true blessing and a journey in trusting the Lord to see it through. Read more here to download a PDF press release.  (4/10)

Geodi Sunabe-Davidson '97 and her husband Sidney welcomed their first child Michael Kikani in July. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 19 inches long. Baby Michael has been such a blessing and it is amazing to watch him grow. ** PHOTO ** (8/10)

Spring was a busy time for the Rebecca '98 and Kyle '98 Duport family! We celebrated the birth of our third son ~ Daniel Thomas and also the purchase of our new home on the same day in April! Big brothers Isaiah (8) and Aaron (5) love living in Southwest Florida. In March, Kyle coached his undefeated girls' basketball team from St. Michael Lutheran School in Fort Myers, FL where he teaches middle school Literature to a 6th place finish in the Lutheran Basketball Associaion of America National Tournament at Valparaiso. In May, Rebecca completed her master's degree in Family Life Education from Concordia, Nebraska and continues to serve as Family Life Minister at Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Myers, FL. (8/10)

Eric Velazquez ‘99 served as project editor for the book "PrayFit: Your Guide to A Healthy Body and A Stronger Faith in 28 Days," which is due in bookstores this December. The book, authored by Christian fitness expert Jimmy Pena, MS, CSCS, provides daily devotions, prescriptive exercise and meal plans for anyone looking for spiritual and physical renewal. The book, published by Regal Books, is currently available for pre-order at www.prayfit.com. Velazquez, who works full-time job as a freelance health and fitness writer, recently began contributing articles to PowerBar.com. (8/10)

Adam Francisco '00, MA '01 has accepted a call as Associate Professor of History at Concordia. Welcome home!  (7/10)
 
Karin (Dwors) Tucker '00, Jason and family, Katie (4) and Jason (1) have moved into the church manse in Avenel, NJ where Jason is Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Avenel. Karin gets to stay home with her kids.  (4/10)

Micah Steven Nettleton was born to Shawn Nettleton, MA '01 and Wendy, M.Ed. '04 in December, weighing 8 lbs 15 oz and 22 in. He joins older sisters Emily (4) and Katelyn (2). ** PHOTO **  (4/10)

Heather Burns '04 co-authored the book "The Heavy Duty Adventures" with her father, former CCI professor Michael Burns. (8/10)

Tamara Brose '03 and Brian Francik '04 were married August 2, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church in Escondido, California. The couple now resides in Deshler Nebraska where Brian is the pastor at St Peter Lutheran. Tamara works in Human Resources at the county hospital and is the director of the vocal and handbell choirs at St Peter Lutheran. The couple remains very thankful for all of their college friends.  (4/10)
 
Sarah (Brook) Marsh '04 and Joshua Marsh '05 announce the arrival of their second son Jason Roger Marsh, born in May. He was 9 lbs and 8 oz and 21 inches. Big brother Caleb loves him too! ** PHOTO ** (7/10)
 
 
Alyce LaLiberte (Angers) '05, husband Adam and proud big sister Addisynn, welcome their new baby boy, Aiden Adam into the world in March at 6lbs 13 ounces, 19.5 inches. ** PHOTO **  (4/10)
 

On March 30, 2010, Jacob Boessling '05 and his wife Nicolette gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Francesca Bernice Boesslling. Praise God for his wonderful gift. ** PHOTO ** (4/10)

Lindsay Kane Barnese '05 recently completed her Ph.D. at UCLA and will join Concordia's faculty as an Assistant Professor of Biology and Chemistry. (7/10)
 

In September, Lindsay (Allen-Ley) Maracine '06 and her husband Flo welcomed their son Sebastian! He is now almost 9 months old... they are a little late in announcing... however he is a bundle of joy! He loves his family and learning sign language and French (which Lindsay teaches him) and Romanian (which Flo teaches him)! ** PHOTO ** (8/10)
