Tim Merritt '94 and Luba (Leschnik) Merritt  have been married over  23  years and are proud to announce the graduation of their eldest son Timothy Jr. this coming June.  Tim Sr. currently serves as Headmaster of Faith Lutheran School in Plano, TX, where he also teaches in the high school.  We have been there 16 years.  In addition to Timothy, we have a freshmen Paul, an 8th grader Phillip, and a 5th grader John. Cyndi Tully ’96 is in the Lifeway Christian Resources Manager-in-Training program learning Lifeway's procedures and culture.  After the program, she will be placed in a store in California. She is very excited and really likes the people she works with. (2/14)

Joel Oesch ’97 and Tiffany Oesch were blessed with the birth of their second child Faye Oesch in November. (4/14)

Rhonda Sayers Wood ’98 was promoted to Assistant Principal for two elementary schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District.  Her son, Weston, is a freshman in high school, and Keegan is in the fourth grade.  Rhonda continues to advocate for special education and was recently a speaker at Autism Conferences of America in Pasadena, CA. Laura Meredith '07 has been working in animation film production since graduation. She started at Sony Animation but has since moved on to Disney Animation Studios and works as a production coordinator. This past year she had the great pleasure of working on a feature film: Frozen. Disney's Frozen has gone on to make over 1 billion dollars worldwide and won 2 Academy Awards, including Disney Animation's first ever Best Animated Film Oscar. Laura is very grateful for the opportunities and blessed to have received a wonderful art education from Concordia. *PHOTO* (4/14)

Anthony DiLiberto ’08 and Jamie DiLiberto welcome their daughter, Eliana Grace DiLiberto.  She arrived in January weighing 5 lbs, 10 oz. and measuring 17 inches long. Anthony and Jamie serve as LCMS missionaries in Peru. Anthony is the Peru mission team's mercy outreach specialist. Anthony is from southern California, where his home congregation is Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Diamond Bar. (2/14)

Aris Magafan’09 and his wife, Laura welcomed their first baby into the world in October 2013. His name is AJ which stands for Angelo Jeffrey which are the names of his two grandfathers. He weighed in at 8lbs 3oz. *PHOTO(1/14)

Alyssa (Magnusson) Safty’09
shares the latest development in FIKISHA.  In November, she traveled to Nairobi again to launch Invite Hope, a paper and wedding invitation business for their team there. (You can read all about it at  They are still running a scholarship program and have 36 students that are now off the street!  Isaac, their first scholar, recently graduated 8th grade.  Sam Bretzmann ’10, Jessica (Siebert) Vanderhyde ’10 and Alyssa are still developing FIKISHA as much as they can.  They are currently looking for board members if anyone in the Concordia Community is interested.  *PHOTO* includes Christine Gilbert ’11 with Alyssa (taking a break from teaching in China). (1/14)



Andrew Parker’10 graduated from Chapman University in January 2013 with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and is working as a therapist for Orange County Mental Health in Westminster PACT, or Program for Assertive Community Treatment. Andrew works on a team with other therapists, social workers, a nurse, and a psychiatrist to provide treatment to the severely mentally ill and is still active at Concordia with the Master Chorale and the Jazz Combo!
