Carol (Rapp) Sherman '96 published he first book under the pen name Anne Carol. The book, titled Never Let Go, is a contemporary romance novel and is the first of a four book series, Faithfully Yours. Published on November 25, 2014, it is available on and Nookbook Press. Rhonda (Sayers) Wood '98, MAED '13 is an assistant principal for three elementary schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District.  She lives with her two sons, Weston (16) and Keegan (10) in San Marino, CA where they attend excellent schools.  (11/14)





Sarah (Roberts) Bjork '00 has joined ONCAMPUS SUNY, an international program delivered in partnership with Cambridge Education Group, as the new center director at Morrisville State. (2/15)


Amy (Druckenmiller) Meaux '00 is a sales manager at Actavis, a pharmaceutical company. In November, she was selected as the recipient for Actavis' outstanding leadership award for managers.  Congratulations Amy! (1/15)


Kimi (Masunaga) McAdam '01 is a food and nutrition expert. She works at Kaiser Permanente in Anaheim as a pediatric dietitian and the Assistant Department Administrator for Food and Nutrition Services. (2/15)


Bernadette Marcy '02 is practicing law at Seastrom & Seastrom, a Premier Family Law firm in Newport Beach in Orange County. She has been an Attorney at Law there for a little over a year. (11/14)


Megan (McConnell) Sanchez '02 is a kindergarten teacher at Vance Elementary, and recently earned the honor of Teacher of the Year for Asheville City Schools. (2/15)


Tamara (Brose) Francik '03 loves music, especially during Christmas season. She has been a bell ringer for more than 20 years. She directed bell ringing at Saint Peter Lutheran Church and also works in human resources at Thayer County Hospital. (2/15)


Alyssa (Mercier) Brakke '04, M.Ed. '06 and her husband Peter Brakke are excited to welcome their son, Jacob Paul Brakke, into the world, born in January. Both mother and son are doing well. (2/15)


Nicole (Klein) Frasz '04 and husband Brian Frasz are thrilled to announce the birth of their son, Wyatt James Frasz, born in January. Big Sisters Aubrey and Cora are in love with their new brother. And Brian is thrilled he finally has a boy in the house! *PHOTO* *PHOTO* (2/15)

Jeremy Cunningham '06 and his wife Jennifer Cunningham have been traveling around the world to perform in theatre. Jeremy and his wife Jennifer direct musicals for local children at Missoula Children’s Theatre. They make musicals happen within five days and the children get to learn life skills. (2/15)


Micha Mayotte '07 and her husband, Jeremy, welcomed their first child, Charlotte Alina, born in October.  Micha shares, “We are filled with joy and savoring every moment with our precious daughter!” *PHOTO* (11/14)


Jody Steliga '07 is the head coach of the women’s basketball team at Mendocino College. She has been the women’s head coach for eight seasons. In 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 she was voted the Bay Valley Conference Coach of the year. (2/15)





Stacy Peterson MA '10 is a personal trainer and trains all different levels of athletes. She used to work at a University, but she finds it more interesting to finally be in a personal training business. She is certified in strength and conditioning, weightlifting, swimming, and has achieved many health certifications. She loves having clients and helping them to reach their goals. (2/15)


Justin Jorgenesen '11 completed his Master of Fine Arts in arts administration from Southern Utah University and is the Associate Artistic and Development Director at New Village Arts Theatre in Carlsbad, California. (11/14)


Both Duje Grubisic '12, MBA '14 and Caleb Hamilton '12 are part of the USA Water Polo Men’s National League, and compete on the International Water Polo Club team. (2/15)


Joshua Canter '14 accepted a job in Austin, TX for the nation's leading media and communications firm as a Digital Marketing Account Executive performing daily updates and digital marketing campaigns for a variety of high-profile and nationally-known organizations and top conservative leaders. Kimberlee Cody '14 recently received her CA Dept of Insurance Property/Casualty Broker License, and is employed full time with Worldwide Facilities, Inc, as a Technical Assistant. (2/15)

Christian Ramirez '14 was named North American Soccer League Player of the Month in May, June, and September 2014. He says that his commitment and hard work are not just for himself, but for the team, and that this award is the result of his teammates’ hard work. (2/15)

In Memoriam

Diane (Dodge) Gaylor '89 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 8. She collapsed at home and could not be revived. Diane served at Concordia for many years as a faculty member and the campus librarian. Most recently she was adjunct faculty in the CU Accelerate Program. She served for many years on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and was president from 2007-2009. 
Jason Manthe '01, M.Ed. '07 of McKinney, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 28 after a battle with early onset Alzheimer’s. Jason was born January 11, 1977, in Lebanon, Oregon, to Dennis Michael Manthe and Sandra Kay Gorton Manthe. He married Kamara (Kam) Kelley on August 10, 2002, in Irvine, California. Jason graduated from Concordia with a master’s degree in education. He taught in Lutheran schools for eight years. His family was one of the founding families of Waters Edge Lutheran Church in Allen, Texas.

Tyler J. Stewart '12 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 27. He was a police officer in Flagstaff, Arizona and was killed in the line of duty responding to a domestic violence call. During his time at Concordia, he was an athletic training major and a member of the men's basketball team.  


Alexandra Walsh '15 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 29. Allie and another passenger passed away in an automobile accident. A memorial service was held on January 8 in a full CU Center with only standing room remaining. Allie was a biology major at Concordia, studying to be a doctor, and was a member of Phi Delta Epsilon, Concordia’s Medical Fraternity. She was set to graduate in May.


Antonio Carranza '18 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 22. He was killed in a motorcycle accident on his way home from class. He was kind, funny, had a gentle spirit and an infectious smile. He was in the degree completion program at Concordia and was set to graduate in 2018.


Cynthia Darling went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 30 following complications from surgery.  Cynthia was a former long-time CUI staff member who worked in University Advancement, Marketing and the School of Arts & Sciences.
